Araucana Club Online Shows

We are very excited to announce that The Araucana Club of America will be hosting its first ONLINE ALL-ARAUCANA  SHOW!   While these show are neither  sanctioned by the APA nor the ABA , we will hold them as close to their  standard as possible.

The shows are open to everyone who is a member in good standing with the ACA,  regardless of age or show experience.   This is a great chance for those who cannot travel to shows, or those too timid but really want to see where their birds rank and how they can be improved, to show your bird. We hope that you will find that this just the incentive for you to dip your toes into the virtual show ring and then go live!

Requirements:

  • A valid ACA membership
  • A membership in the ACA forum, that’s this site
  • A digital camera that uploads directly to the web or smartphone
  • or saving that, a computer with a USB cable to upload your photos
  • And oh yes – a Tufted and Rumpless Araucana

We will be enlisting APA/ABA judges, and not only will they place the birds, but we will also be asking them to provide you with written feedback about your bird’s type and plumage.  We want this to be not only fun, but a learning tool as well so you can get as real a showing experience as possible.  In the end, we hope you will use it as a stepping stone to entering your first sanctioned show so definitely this is going to be fun and educational.

All entry photos will be posted online as they are received, so the public can view them just as they would at a show.  Judges’ comments and placements will also be posted online once they are received.

Wash those birds, trim those beaks , cut those toenails, charge up the batteries in your camera, and Enter! If you have questions on any of the procedures post them in the forum.

We hope to be seeing you.
