Note: The APA recognizes the Black Breasted Red in the wheaten genotype while the ABA recognize the Black Breasted Red in the wild type (e+) genotype.  For best results, these two types of BBR should not be crossed together in a breeding program because although the males are almost identical, the females are very different  in color.
